Mayday! Research vessel escapes sinking crossing the Gulf Stream

In this episode of When it hits the fan, we talk to ocean explorer Tim Taylor about a near-sinking of his research vessel while crossing the Gulf Stream between Havana, Cuba, and Key West, Florida.

Tim recently received the Distinguished Public Service Award, the highest civilian award from the US Navy, for his work on the Lost 52 Project which aims to locate the wrecks of WWII vessels – and the bodies of the sailors who lost their lives when they were sunk.
