{"id":18536,"date":"2023-06-13T08:34:30","date_gmt":"2023-06-13T08:34:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.battleface.com\/blog\/?p=18536"},"modified":"2023-06-19T11:09:14","modified_gmt":"2023-06-19T11:09:14","slug":"canada-expands-visa-free-travel-to-13-new-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.battleface.com\/blog\/canada-expands-visa-free-travel-to-13-new-countries\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada expands visa-free travel to 13 new countries"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Approx read: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">mins<\/span><\/span><h2 id=\"canada-has-added-13-new-countr\">Canada has added 13 new countries to its visa-free list.<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"the-policy-takes-effect-july-1\">The policy takes effect July 1st.<\/h3>\n<h4 id=\"the-new-qualifying-nations-are\">The new qualifying nations are:<\/h4>\n<p>Albania &#8211; Andorra &#8211; Antigua and Barbuda &#8211; Barbados &#8211; Bosnia and Herzegovina &#8211; Brunei &#8211; Dominica &#8211; Grenada &#8211; Liechtenstein &#8211; Malta &#8211; Monaco &#8211; San Marino &#8211; Saint Vincent &#8211; the Grenadines<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"to-qualify-for-visa-free-trave\">To qualify for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cic.gc.ca\/english\/visit\/visas.asp\"> visa-free<\/a> travel to Canada, travellers must meet the following requirements for an eTA:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a citizen of one of the 13 new countries<\/li>\n<li>Hold a valid passport with more than 6-months validity from the proposed date of departure from Canada<\/li>\n<li>Have a return or onward ticket<\/li>\n<li>Have enough money to support themselves and dependents during their stay in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Not have a criminal record<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Travellers who do not meet these all these requirements will still be able to apply for a visa at a Canadian visa office. The eTAs will be valid for five years, or until the traveller&#8217;s passport expires, whichever is the earlier date applicable.<\/p>\n<p>To apply for an eTA, travellers must create an account on the Government of Canada\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/visit-canada\/eta\/important-reminders-apply-eta.html\">website<\/a> and provide their passport information, travel itinerary, and contact information. The application process is quick and easy, and typically takes just a few minutes to complete.<\/p>\n<p>eTAs are not required for travellers who are citizens of the USA, which has a visa-waiver agreement with Canada and can remain for up to 6-months.
