Sam is a travel writer, academic, surfer and presenter from Cornwall in the UK, and Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator in Cultural Tourism Management BA Hons at Falmouth University. His research in cultural tourism, surf travel and geography is particularly focused on Cornwall, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia. Surf travel has led Sam to visit sixty countries, documenting cultural tourism frontiers in Haiti, China, Algeria, Liberia, Oman and South Korea. Sam's roots, however, remain in Penwith, where he lives with his family above Gwenver beach, close to Land's End.

Gwendolyn is a half German, half English bilingual secretary who worked a boring bank gig bank in London before the travel bug bit. She ran away to live with a family in Peru for 5 months, learning Spanish in the morning and working on a street children project in the afternoons. She then led adventure tours in Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Eastern Europe for three and a half years. Coming home, she spent 5 years as a translator and interpreter in Berlin and eventually joined a bilingual kindergarten to teach English to children aged 2-6. Multi-media artist F.C., alias #codefc , graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2002 with a degree in Public Art and Design. Since then, he has been based in London, operating as Street Artist / Video Jockey / Video Artist / Painter, with projects spreading across art galleries, street art galleries, clubs and music festival internationally. His work typically involves site-specific socio-historical commentary, evident in his global street art practice, which takes the form of travel diaries onto outdoor spaces treated as sketch-books.

Alison Baskerville has worked as a professional photographer since 2010. After completing her degree at the University of Westminster in Photojournalism she has worked as a freelance documentary photographer, specialising in the impact of conflict on women's lives in war zones around the world, including Afghanistan, Mali, Israel/Gaza and the Philippines. Her work has been published by the Times, The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Mirror and BBC online Features. She has also completed commissions for Plan International, Care International and the Royal British Legion. Her work has been exhibited in the Oxo Gallery in London.

Jeffrey E Stern is a writer and development worker whose reporting from Afghanistan, Kashmir, and elsewhere has been published by The Atlantic, The New Republic, Esquire, Time, Newsweek / The Daily Beast, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Duke Magazine and other publications.
