battleface is committed to making sure our products are simple and easy to understand. We’re transparent in the way we operate and want to do all we can to help people make informed decisions when buying insurance. We work with travel distribution partners, insurance brokers, and insurers from across the globe to supply travel insurance solutions for our customers. This statement explains how we and our partners are paid for the products and services that we provide.
Our travel insurance products
We work with individuals directly and custom-build products for our distribution partners and their customers. You do not pay us a fee. We receive a commission from our insurance carriers for the battleface products sold. The commission is calculated as a percentage of the total insurance premium received.
We may also receive contingent commissions from insurers for insurance policies sold during a given year or other time period. This is agreed up front with our insurance carriers and will be paid contingent on set profitability thresholds.
For some products, we also receive payments from our insurance carriers for other activities carried out on their behalf, such as policy administration and claims handling.
Our referred partners
As well as developing our own unique products, we’ve built relationships with other specialist insurance providers to offer a broader range of insurances that aren’t available through our platform. We receive a commission from these insurance providers for making these products available to you. Our commission is a percentage of the insurance premium for policies sold through our online channels.
Our marketing partners
We have online referral partnerships with like-minded companies that have travel at the heart of their businesses. Marketing partners share information about battleface news and products, and in return receive a fee from us. Fees are paid to our partners as a flat fee for marketing services.
Our broker network
We work with insurance agents and licensed brokers internationally to distribute and administer our products, and to act as a local point of contact for our customers. These partners receive a commission from us for the services they provide, which is a percentage of the premium received on the insurance products sold.
Tech and travel partners
We also work with affiliates who are experts in tech and travel. These affiliates share information about the availability of our products and services to their customers in exchange for a fee. These fees are paid by us as a percentage of the insurance premiums received.
We do not charge any additional administration or arrangement fees on our products. Policy amendments for example, can be made free of charge.

We believe that insurance and travel have positive impacts on people’s lives. Insurance is a source of protection and a force for good in society. Travel helps people better understand other cultures, come together, and be more accepting of diversity. To that end, we invest in initiatives that support communities in global destinations that further our mission to bring people and the world together.
Our support for KIVA
battleface’s team believes that everyone should be able to thrive and take part in global and local economies. Our team is committed to social change and sponsors entrepreneurs worldwide to build a financially inclusive world.
In December 2019, battleface announced a partnership with Kiva, an international not for profit that facilitates crowdfunded loans for people underserved by financial institutions. Every year, we allocate 1% of our sales towards issuing loans through Kiva. Any return we receive on these loans gets invested straight back into the organisation. As part of our Kiva loan matching program, we also cover any associated processing fees.
